OUTDOOR WATERING RULES & REGULATIONS (non-drip systems)
CAR WASHING:
-Permitted anytime with the use of a shut-off nozzle only.
WASHING OF OUTDOOR PAVEMENT, DRIVEWAYS & SIDEWALKS:
- Permitted anytime with the use of a shut-off nozzle only.
- Bulk water from a hydrant will not be used for washing parking lots, driveways, etc.
EXCEPTIONS:
- Outdoor watering by drip irrigation, or by hand using only a watering can or a hose with a shut-off nozzle. Drip systems include: mini sprays, maxi sprays, flower sprays, spot watering emitters, etc.
- Outdoor watering of new lawns and landscaping for the first two years after installation.
- Outdoor watering of public school property (including, but not limited to, public school athletic fields).
- Outdoor watering within the Town’s public parks.
- Outdoor watering at the Town’s municipal golf course.
VIOLATIONS/FINES:
1st violation: Warning only (no fine)
2nd violation: $250 fine
3rd violation: $500 fine
4th & each additional violation: $750 fine
