Consider reaching the peak of law enforcement with
The Breckenridge Police Department!
Members of the Breckenridge Police Department team provide community focused policing services to our vibrant mountain resort community.
We value applicants who will treat people the way they would want their friends and family to be treated by law enforcement.
Applicants should be good communicators who are dedicated to solving problems and building partnerships with the community.
The Town of Breckenridge values diversity in our Police Department staff. To achieve our hiring goals for police officer, we will recruit and hire those with prior police officer experience and/or training in addition to sending quality inexperienced candidates to the police academy.
In addition to academy expenses being paid for by the Town of Breckenridge, candidates sent to the academy are full time employees and will be paid as such starting at $70,000/year.
All Town of Breckenridge police officers are compensated via a step pay plan.
The plan starts at $70k and tops out at $100k-$108k depending on experience level and training.
We will apply prior full years of service up to four years when determining starting compensation.
