Liquor Licensing
Obtaining a liquor license in Town of Breckenridge is a privilege, not a right. Liquor licenses are issued by the State and the Town of Breckenridge. The Town cannot issue the local license until the State has reviewed and approved the application and issued the State license.
How to apply for a license or make a change to an existing license:
All necessary forms are available online using the links below or in hard copy at the Town Clerk's Office at 150 Ski Hill Road. Applicants need to call ahead for their document packet needs. Scheduled appointments are required for new applicants.

The Local Licensing Authority meets the third Tuesday of every month starting at 9:00 a.m. at 150 Ski Hill Road, Town Hall Auditorium.
The Town Clerk and Deputy Town Clerks administer the liquor licensing program and work directly with each applicant to prepare their application before appearing before the Licensing Authority.
In liquor licensing there are many levels of licensing that may occur. Levels include but are not limited to the licensing of a new business, designating a new manager, altering an existing premise, changing an entity’s LLC or Corporate structure, changing the location of the business, or changing a trade name.
Open Container Law
Due to open container laws in the Town of Breckenridge, it is illegal to consume alcoholic beverages in most unlicensed, public locations. In the State of Colorado, it is illegal for a customer to bring an opened or unopened bottle of alcohol onto a licensed or unlicensed premises for consumption. It is prohibited to purchase or serve any alcoholic beverage to persons under the age of 21.
