The Town of Breckenridge has completed a self-assessment and transition planning process. Our commitment is to be inclusive and welcoming to all individuals.

Under Title II of the ADA and Section 504, we are obligated to conduct a thorough evaluation of our services, policies, and practices to eliminate any discrimination against people with disabilities. This evaluation also entails developing a transition plan that outlines necessary physical changes to facilities and public spaces to ensure "program access." Our focus remains on achieving compliance with state and federal accessibility standards for all pedestrian and public facilities.

In accordance with best practices, government agencies must regularly update their ADA Self-Evaluation & Transition Plans to adapt to evolving environments and infrastructure. This proactive approach enables us to identify and address barriers within our programs, policies, and activities, encompassing physical structures, services, and communication methods.

This plan serves as a strategic tool for ongoing enhancements to the accessibility of town facilities, programs, activities, and services, reinforcing our long-term commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.

The survey linked below is provided to ensure that members of the community, and guests visiting our community have an opportunity to be informed about our process and provide feedback. Whether you've obtained a permit, joined a recreational program, or attended a public meeting, we want to hear about your experiences to help us improve.

Beginning in 2025 the Town will conduct an inventory and review of the town’s housing properties for compliance with applicable accessibility requirements including the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
