Finding a Place to Live in Summit County

Finding affordable housing in the Breckenridge and surrounding Summit County area can be challenging and expensive, depending on your needs and the time of year. Individuals interested in living in the area are encouraged to devote adequate time and resources when seeking housing, particularly during the fall and winter months. The Town of Breckenridge has some transitional employee housing for new employees, although this is very limited.

The Town also manages and offers "Employee Downpayment Assistance" & "Rental Deposit Assistance" programs for eligible Town employees who are purchasing a home or renting in the local area. To find out about the qualifying requirements for these programs, please contact an HR representative during your recruitment process.

Many Town employees live in areas and municipalities that are in close commuting proximity to Breckenridge. These areas include: Park County (Fairplay & Alma), Summit County (Dillon, Silverthorne & Frisco), Lake County (Leadville), and Clear Creek County (Georgetown & Idaho Springs). You can also find information related to rental apartments, condos and homes in the local newspaper (see links below).
