EMPLOYEE COMMITTEES
The Town’s various Employee Committees provide an opportunity to participate in activities and become involved in special initiatives. Employee Committees include, but are not limited to the following:

Leadership Development Team
This team’s mission statement defines its key role in championing the Town’s Leadership Values & Philosophies: “The Leadership Development Team will inspire and support a leadership culture by developing learning opportunities and recognizing leadership practices.”
Through learning events such as Leadership Roundtable discussions; formal training; and, the annual Leadership Challenge Program, this group provides many opportunities for leadership learning.

Employee Relations Committee
The Town’s Employee Relations Committee is a dedicated group of employees from each department with the mission of: “Promoting employee relations through celebration, recognition, and engagement.” The Committee plans events such as the Summer Kickoff, Summer Picnic, Holiday Party, and Winter Event. They also organize initiatives such as the Annual Food Drive, and the recognition program for tenure in employment.

Green Team
The Town’s Green Team focuses on sustainability initiatives in a partnership with Town management and our employees. The Green Team’s mission statement is to: “Reduce the ecologic footprint of the Town by promoting and demonstrating commitment to responsible stewardship of our resources and encouraging a culture of sustainability within the community”.

Safety Committee
The members of this committee like to say the following: “At the Town of Breckenridge, SAFETY is a value, not just a priority”. This committee is engaged in numerous activities that are focused on workplace safety. They encourage a behavior-based-safety culture and seek opportunities to improve this culture through education and training.

Benefits Committee
The Benefit Committee, led by Human Resources, evaluates, promotes and recommends benefit programs in a collaborative effort with the senior management team. Programs are reviewed in the context of how they meet organizational needs, which include, but are not limited to the following: Employee Retention, Competitive Recruitment, and Cost Containment.
