Accounting and Financial Reporting
The Town's Accounting Division compiles the Monthly Financial Report . The report is provided to Town Council on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Reports are made available online after they have been presented at the Town Council meeting. In the event a Town Council meeting is canceled, the reports will be made available at the next Town Council meeting.
The Mountain Communities Report is made available on a monthly basis by the City of Steamboat Springs based upon tax information collected by their finance department from several other mountain communities.
The Accounting Division also compiles the Town’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, working closely with Finance Administration. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report includes the Town of Breckenridge financial statements and complies with Town Charter, generally accepted accounting principles and the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB). The financial statements are externally audited by BDO LLLP. The data contained in the reports are for historical reference only. The information contained is not updated for development subsequent to the date of the independent auditor’s report.
The Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports are also available in hard copy for viewing at the Town Clerk's Office.
