The Town of Breckenridge is invested in offering a comprehensive Forest Health Program to address the impacts of the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation and to ensure the viability and future of the forest. The Town has developed various ordinances and treatment plans which are outlined below.Voluntary Defensible Space Ordinance - This voluntary ordinance will assist property owners in creating defensible space where structures are located. Mountain Pine Beetle Ordinance - This mandatory ordinance addresses the process of removing dead and infested lodgepole pine trees due to the Mountain Pine Beetle infestation.Town Open Space Treatment - This treatment plan outlines what Town of Breckenridge Open Space parcels will be treated by removals and/or selective insecticide spraying.Town Property Treatment - This treatment plan outlines what Town of Breckenridge Property will be treated by removals and/or selective insecticide spraying.
